How to Create an Email Template

Create a reusable email template in Tattle to send to guests when responding to their feedback from the Incident List, Responses page, or To-Do List.

Email templates are pre-written messages you can send to guests when responding to their feedback. Once saved, a template is available in the reply dropdown across the Incident List, Responses page, and To-Do List.

Accessing Email Templates

  1. Navigate to Account Setup in the bottom left corner of the dashboard.

  2. On the right side, under Communications and Brand, select "Email Templates".

  3. Click the blue "New Template" button.

Filling In Template Details

Complete the following fields:

  • Type — select the template type (e.g., Apology). This determines how the template is categorized in the system.

  • Subject Line — the email subject your guest will see. Keep it clear and include your brand name (e.g., "Brand Name — Thank you for your feedback").

  • Group — (optional) limit this template to specific location groups.

  • From — (optional) override the default sender address for this template.

  • Body — write the content of your email.

  • Tags — insert dynamic tags to personalize your message. Available tags include guest name, your name, and restaurant name. Select from the tag list shown in the editor.

  • Reward — (optional) attach a reward to this template if you want to offer guests a coupon or incentive.

  • Image — (optional) add a logo or image to the template.

Note: Template tags (such as guest name) work in apology and response templates. They do not work in feedback request emails.

Saving Your Template

  1. Review all fields.

  2. Click "Save".

Your template is now available to all users at the locations or groups you specified. It will appear in the template dropdown when replying to guests.
